You don’t always see the craft inside — but you taste the tradition in every bite. Our itamae train for years before they touch the counter, and it shows in the cut, the temperature, and the rice.

I have been eating at Sansho (both dine in and take out) for years, and they never disappoint. I recently came in for a special treat on my birthday and enjoyed the freshest and most beautifully presented VIP Chirashi I could ask for. Hands down the best place in Lower Mainland if you are looking for a Japanese-run sushi restaurant.
This is now my favourite Japanese restaurant. The fish was fresh and has good quality. The servers and the cooks were very polite and kind. This is probably the only Japanese restaurant in the North Shore that is run by Japanese. I’ll definitely go back.
A hidden gem tucked into a neighborhood. Runs by Japanese owner, servers are mostly Japanese too, so you will have different feeling than other Sushi restaurants. Rolls was fresh and loaded with good quality fish. Highly recommended.
Was visiting family in North Van and we heard good things about this place so we went there for lunch. I had a Bento box and my wife had the sushi lunch. Both meals were excellent. The nigiri sushi comes with good sized pieces of fish on top. Service and atmosphere were also great.
Food tasted great! Ordered the salmon fin/belly dinner set menu which came with a bowl or rice, miso soup, salad, 3 types of sashimi (6pc), and a small dish of what I think was spinach and some peanut sauce. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly.
Stumbled on this delicious gem tucked into a neighborhood. Locals only, this place did not disappoint. Each roll was fresh and loaded with good quality fish. The sockeye salmon and yellow tail nigiri melted in your mouth not to mention the scallop roll. Parking is tight and it’s small inside but worth going off the beaten path.
